PROLIFE ISSUES


Isaiah 44:2, "Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb,
which will help thee; Fear not..." Eccl. 11:5, "As thou knowest not what is the way
of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so
thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all."

Consider the following: "If a man loses his reverence for any part of life,
he will lose it for all life." (the unborn, the handicapped, the elderly)

Proverbs 31:8 says, "Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all
such as are appointed to destruction." (dumb - means unable to speak)
This was instruction to a king but, IMO, is speaking to all of us today,
especially to our lawmakers and judges. Think about how this could
apply to unborn babies and anyone who cannot defend themselves.

More than 3,000 people lost their lives on 9-11-01. They did not choose to die; their lives
were suddenly taken from them. Surely we can all agree that was cruel and tragic -
unthinkable - and those deaths continue to affect not only the lives of their loved ones but all
of us. An estimated 4,000 unborn children lose their lives each day in America. They do not
choose to die either - that "choice" is made for them - and even more tragically, the choice
is not made by a terrorist but by family; and then it is carried out by the hands of those sworn
to heal and protect life. These young lives are suddenly destroyed, many via *partial birth
abortion which is especially cruel and painful - unthinkable! Our Declaration of
Independence says, "all men are created equal that they are endowed by their Creator
with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life,..." yet the "right to life" for an
unborn child is not protected. Is this not also tragic? Even if in the past you have
supported a woman's "right to choose" death for her unborn child; isn't it time to reconsider?
Help change America from a culture of death to a culture that supports the sanctity of life.
Thomas Jefferson said, "And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have
removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of
the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my
country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep forever." Surely the
foundation to all liberty for our unborn is first and foremost their "right to life."
