(SPELLING)
Using copywork and dictation are helpful and effective ways to encourage your
student to "pay attention" to the spelling of words. Writing "original" stories often
promotes greater interest in correct spelling, too. The use of commonly mispelled
words can be used as spelling "lists" if desired. One tip we recently received was
to use a different color or to capitalize or "decorate" a troublesome letter in a word
to draw special attention to it.
