(PHONICS)
Ruth Beechick's books are very helpful, especially The Three R's series and The Language
Wars and Other Writings for Homeschoolers
. Alpha-Phonics by Samuel Blumenfeld; Adventures
in Phonics
, Noah Webster's Reading Handbook, and the 4 volume Kindergarten Phonics
Readers
all by Christian Liberty Press; Phonics is Fun by Modern Curriculum Press; Phonics
Lessons
by Christ Centered Publications ; The Pictorial Primer; ABeka's Handbook for
Reading
and Writing with Phonics; Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons (uses silly
sentences and at first no capitalization or punctuation is used - I edited ours); Victory Drill;
The Writing Road to Reading, and a new one to us Reading Made Easy: A Guide to Teach Your
Child to Read
by Valerie Bendt are all recommended resources to prayerfully consider.

If you like workbooks with wholesome, simple pictures try the Preschool Set
by Rod and Staff or Before We Read, Learning Through Sounds, and Helping Yourself
all by Pathway Publishers. Tip: if your child likes workbooks, these are fun; if your child
tires of too much coloring, cutting, and gluing, please don't feel like the pages must be
worked because you "bought" the book! Preschool is a time of delight not drudgery.
