America: The First 350 Years (16 American History audio tapes with study notes
and bibliography by Pastor Stephen Wilkins) Available from several sources.
True history - not filled with modern day revisionists' inaccuracies.

An excellent conference series we are using this year by Dr. Noebel and Jeffrey Myers is
"Symposium on Understanding the Times" (8 audio tapes) from Christian Liberty Press.
These lectures are about defending a Christian Worldview in our culture today.

Mary vs. Martha by Sono Harris - 2 audio tapes. This will make you laugh and
cry as Sono talks about finding balance in our homes - something most of us
struggle with. For mothers who are naturally "too busy," she encourages planning
special times for deepening relationships with our children and spouse.
(Fun Physical Fitness for the Home is also by Sono Harris)

Bold Christian Living tapes by Jonathan Lindvall - see http://boldchristianliving.com/.

VIDEOS
The Wonder of God's Creation by Moody Science. 3 videos entitled "Planet Earth",
"Animal Kingdom", and "Human Life." Beautiful scenery and beautiful music with
narration that our children have enjoyed again and again.

Toddlers Sing-Along Time live action video and Children's Hymns hosted by a puppet named
Gerbert; sign language is used some. Both are videos with much singing for children.

An all time favorite video of ours is Sergeant Alvin York with Gary Cooper. It is
based on a true story about the most decorated war hero of World War I.

Little Women, the 1949 version with June Allison as Jo, based on the book by Louisa May
Alcott, and two movies based on novels by Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice with Greer
Garson and Sense and Sensibility, are three more of our favorites. (Do read the books first.)

Seasons of the Heart - Feature Films for Families. When Jed and Martha Richards
agree to rear young, orphaned Daniel, Jed is delighted; but Martha is still grieving
over the death of their two little girls who died crossing the plains to this new land.
Not being able to accept this little boy who is so different from their girls, Martha
pleads with Jed to take him back; then a miracle happens in her heart on Christmas
Eve, and she's finally able to give a mother's love to their new son. Heartwarming story!

Another recommended Feature Films for Families is Friendship's Field - a place
where kindness triumphs over prejudice. A pair of children from two very different
cultures learn an important life lesson in tolerance and understanding in this tale of
friendship in the face of prejudice. Upon her daughter’s discovering a weathered crayon
drawing in an old family trunk, Ira is transported back to a magical summer in 1965 as an
eleven-year-old girl relishing her last days of freedom before beginning work on her family's
beet farm. Ira befriended Oscar, the young Mexican son of migrant workers hired by her
father. Despite the open hostility shown to these workers by some of the local population,
Ira's friendship with Oscar gave her a new outlook on life and taught her how to be a true
friend and stand tall for her beliefs at any cost. Touching story of friendship and respect,
as told from Ira's perspective.

Treasures of the Snow video is based on the book by Patricia St. John. High in the
Swiss Alps a little boy, Danny, is hurt. The culprit, although unintentionally causing
the accident, is Lucien. He becomes an outcast and escapes from family and school
friends, especially Annette, Danny's sister, to find peace high up in the forest where
he meets an old woodcarver, who himself has a mysterious past. Lucien is encouraged
to have hope as he learns the art of woodcarving but discovers the hard way that there
is a price to be paid for reconciliation. The characters experience real life struggles and
hardships with restitution at last through God's love and true forgiveness.

Micah 6:8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD
require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?"
